Worldwide Intelligence Analysis and Brokering
What we offer: Homeland Analysis Group, Inc. has positioned itself as America's “one-stop-shop” for Worldwide Intelligence. We make it our business to know who knows and where and how to get the information needed. Many times the information needed is FREE, one just has to know where to look. We partner with reliable and well-known information and information system providers and we can help sort out what's best for your needs.

Why we offer it: You have too many choices when it comes to information analysis, systems, and products. You wonder whether hiring competent analysts is the answer; you wonder if some revolutionary data mining product is the answer; can you just use some good search engines?; your current engineering prime contractor does some analysis too, should you just add a sub-task for them? You need accurate ground information from inside Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan but you don't want it either from spies or with a classified label. Travel Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Domestic Intelliegence, Foreign Intelligence...there's so much of it out there...but it's hard to sort out...and it's easy to overpay. Guess what? The answers you need are likely NOT classified!

Now that we have clearly entered the Information Age, many have begun to realize that information is the most valuable commodity of most modern endeavors. This is especially true in Homeland Defense and Security. Accurate information can save billions of dollars and save millions of lives if used appropriately. On strategic, operational, and tactical levels, analyzed information is critical to success. As the “world has become flat” (to paraphrase a globalization novelist) people realize that having accurate, timely, and predictive information regarding political, social, and military cultures worldwide is vital to maintaining a competitive edge in business, in science, and in national security and defense. No single entity has all the answers, but several entities specialize in either certain types of information, or certain areas of information, or special tools to find information. In a world of information overload, Americans need an honest broker to turn to in order to find the right intelligence, at the right time, in order to effectively carry out their private or public Homeland Security and Defense missions.

Domestic Readiness Information and Analysis
What we offer: Homeland Analysis Group, Inc. is the only U.S. Company that provides focused open-source domestic preparedness intelligence. Our information products are geared toward domestic U.S. emergency planners and private citizens. We believe the best preparedness plan for America includes well-prepared citizens who are armed with both the products and information they need to mitigate risks and recover after emergency incidents. Our information and analysis products are for both government and commercial users. In addition, our network of information providers and analysts are available for pre-incident, incident, and post-incident situational awareness support.

Why we offer it: In 2004 and 2005, the founders of Homeland Analysis Group provided U.S. Government Agencies with Special Events Situational Awareness Reports. These event and incident analysis reports included planning and response for: Republican and Democratic National Conventions, 2004 Summer Olympics, UN General Assembly, 2005 Presidential Inauguration, G8 Summit and related London public transport terrorist bombings, Asian Tsunami recovery, and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita response and recovery. What we learned is that the most accurate event and disaster information can be gained through unclassified sources and that packaging of useful information for Federal, State, and local government personnel and private citizens has not been accomplished. People need to know what the local potential threats and vulnerabilities are (natural and man-made), what infrastructure exists (public health, energy, transportation, communications, etc.) emergency and evacuation plans, and what disaster resources are available before, during, and after an emergency incident.

Homeland Exercise Intelligence
What we offer: Homeland Analysis Group, Inc. has the capability to provide all documentation involved in exercise planning and design according to DHS guidelines. In addition to this, we specialize in planning for, and implementing, intelligence feeds for exercises that want to maintain a degree of realism. This is especially true for exercises that deal with potential terrorist threats or protester group tactics. We have an in-depth knowledge of the threats and vulnerabilities facing Americans, not just cookie-cutter sound bytes regarding potential adversaries.

Why we offer it: Every day, government agencies at the Federal, State, and local levels are planning exercises to help prepare for potential emergencies. DHS and the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) have outlined a very rigorous plan for exercises to be carried out by those who want to be National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliant. Our team has been a part of these and fully understands what it takes to plan for, and carry out, any of the various exercises from the tabletop to full-scale. However, one weakness we've noted in the majority of exercises is a lack of realism in planning the scenarios in terms of intelligence related to threats, vulnerabilities, and potential adversaries.

Homeland Market Research
What we offer: Homeland Analysis Group, Inc. created www.HomelandMarketResearch.com to help U.S. Government and Commercial providers quickly find information regarding various sector products, systems, capabilities, and services for a fraction of the cost spent in the past. Developmental and off-the-shelf products, along with various services, are included in distinct areas. Government users get the basic market research information FREE of charge by utilizing a password to access secure data. Product and service providers pay a small fee to have their information posted on the site. Large government contractors can also access the data for a small fee in order to search for potential vendors or suppliers. Proprietary data is handled appropriately and never shared between commercial entities without express written consent and signing of non-disclosure statements. Most importantly, Homeland Analysis Group provides FREE analysis of the vendor claims as an unbiased third party. In-depth sector analysis or focused market research is available as well.

Why we offer it: Millions of dollars are spent each year for people to provide information regarding their products or services (systems and capabilities) or for other people to collect such information in the form of market research. Across and within the Homeland Security and Defense communities and industries, planners and decision makers have a difficult time keeping track of what's taking place on the government side or understanding what's available on the commercial side. To avoid unwanted duplication and to narrow candidates for various upcoming acquisition projects, “sources sought” and “requests for information (RFIs)” are advertised by government buyers. Government agencies spend money and time having their personnel carry out the planning and review of such solicitations. Commercial vendors spend money and time responding to such solicitations. Multiple agencies within the government do this simultaneously, many times unaware of other agency's efforts, or sometimes even within the same military service or agency. Sometimes companies are put on contract by an agency or military division just for the purpose of researching and reporting back to that agency or division what is happening across the Department of Defense (DoD) or Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or other agencies. Millions of dollars are spent each year to discover, track, analyze, and report such information

Operations Security Awareness and Planning
What we offer: Homeland Analysis Group, Inc. created the site www.OpSecGuy.com™ as an awareness tool and the majority of information on the site is available only to government subscribers and those with a verified “need-to-know”. We highlight OPSEC problems in the government and commercial communities, relying almost exclusively on internet data. The extent of our discoveries is available only through password-protected access. Our goal is to correct many of the OPSEC problems going on today in order to save money and lives. In addition, we provide Web-based Risk Assessments (a.k.a. open-source red teaming) for government or commercial customers who want to know just how vulnerable they really are from agencies and people with "loose lips" on the internet.

Why we offer it: The days of prolonged secrecy are over. As classified intelligence continues to shrink in importance, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) becomes more relevant, the need for operations security (OPSEC) still remains. Traditionally, OPSEC is a set of procedures outlining how to avoid compromising the integrity of a mission. Generically, it is a method for protecting your critical information. The theory behind OPSEC is timeless. However, the saying “loose lips might sink ships” was part of a World War II campaign to remind military members not to disclose information that could be used by enemies against the U.S. The formal process for OPSEC analysis and the term itself did not arrive until the Vietnam War, when used by a team called “Purple Dragon”. OPSEC is a process used to identify and deny critical information from adversaries who seek to exploit such information for their advantage and our disadvantage. This process was pretty clear-cut before the proliferation of computers and the internet and it was formalized during the Cold War era. Analysis is done from an adversary's perspective; this is often called “red teaming.” Today, Americans involved in Homeland Security and Defense rank among the worst in the world at effective OPSEC. This is despite a government-funded program aimed at educating and training government employees—the Interagency OPSEC Support Staff (IOSS). Our adversaries and potential adversaries, including terrorists, rely almost exclusively upon open-source information to plan and carry out operations or attacks against us.
